An initiative run by Clarigen Ltd & Longford County Enterprise Board earlier this week that offered employers and managers from local businesses, expert guidance on all Human Resource issues proved immensely popular.
Demand for the free of charge one hour sessions exceeded supply and Clarigen HR consultants met with 13 employers to assist them to address and deal effectively with HR issues, some ensuing from the current difficult trading environment.
Topics covered a wide spectrum from recruitment and selection to terms & conditions of employment and inevitably the implementation of redundancy programmes. Feedback from attendees showed that employers understand the importance of being armed with professional advice in line with employment legislation and HR best practice when dealing with employment related issues.
Michael Nevin, CEO, Longford County Enterprise Board expressed satisfaction “that thirteen Enterprise Board clients had received pertinent HR advice at a time when it is important that businesses are following correct procedures”. He anticipates that “the demand for this type of advice and service is going to remain strong particularly in this economic climate and encourages clients of the Board to seek external advice if the feel that they are uncertain around any HR issue.”
Another HR Advisory clinic is hoped for to deal with businesses that were unsuccessful in getting bookings during these two days.
